Dr. Stack's Bio
Christopher A. Stack, M.D. is a neurologist dual board certified in general and vascular neurology. He has special interests in young adults with stroke, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, stroke systems of care and prognostication after cardiac arrest.
Dr. Stack was born and raised in the Baltimore area. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his internship, residency and fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Following his training, Dr. Stack started his practice at a University of Maryland System hospital where he started the neuro-hospitalist program and ran the stroke program as the Medical Director. Through his passion, leadership and patient-centric focus, he grew the program into a top primary stroke center in the state. Often cited as an innovator, He led efforts to become the first program in the state to transition to tenecteplase for acute stroke therapy.
Dr. Stack implemented multiple triaging algorithms using cutting edge imaging technology in order to give therapy to patients beyond the “standard” 4.5-hour thrombolytic window.
When Dr. Stack is not working, he is spending time with his wife, kids, and dog.
